Flight socks and swollen ankle

    Hi guys,

Hoping I can get some replies before morning :-/

I'm flying to the States in the morning and my concern is about flight socks and my already swollen ankle. I got bitten by what I think to have been a horsefly last week and my ankle has swollen up. Got antibiotics and stuff at the docs but it wasn't my regular doctor I saw and when I asked her about compression and the infection she said 'oh no, compression will spread infection'.

So while the itch etc.. is basically gone, and it's not aggressive anymore, the swelling has gone down a little but not enough for me to be happy.

What do I do?!?! Any advice would be appreciated. I'm considering just not wearing them but will have them in my hand luggage to stick them on if I want or thinking of wearing them and then taking them off if I want.

    Head is melted

I would follow the advice of the doctor.
