okay you are already on separate payment schemes from the Department. What exactly are you looking to do. What payment are you on. Is your partner on carers benefit or allowance?

I think he is probably getting either JSA or DA for himself herself and the kids and she's probably getting 1/2 Carers and she probably wants half his payment paid to herself every week.
Would she need to open a claim for JSA for herself (which she can't because she's Caring full time) or can it be organised for "her half" to go direct to her?

yes I claim for all within the household and she gets half rate carers. I give her e100 from my payment as seems fair to me. but we wish to keep payments separate as if ive to do a ce scheme or something similar I get destroyed with tax because of rate of payment. if I was on a lesser rate I would avoid getting taxed too much. also as stated Im looking to return to college and if there is a problem with any payments on my end, at least the kids and her wont be affected too much.

OP's payment can be separated and his spouse/partner can get a separate payment. In this scenario any changes to your claim in relation to means would have a knock on affect on her separate payment of your JA.

Thanks. How does that effect her carers, if I stop claiming for her does it automatically go to full rate carers or is there a long drawn out process for that to happen.
