We have an 09 skoda superb on 18" wheels. It came with no spare and we want to buy one. Does it have to be an 18", it would only be used when main wheel would be being fixed.

    Stupid question, i know:o

It doesn't have to be 18'
You can buy a smaller spacesaver wheel.

Would not a can of gunk suffice?

Of course it has to be 18 inches putting anything smaller on is madness

You can get a spacesaver once its an 18 inch one but wont be as deep/wide as your current alloy.

Make sure it has space to go somewhere as roundy things lose in your car is bad news

Can of tyre weld etc is no good in some instances, if the tyre is in sh1te etc

Surely op could get a smaller wheel with larger sidewall on the tyre, as long as the overall circumference is the same.

OP, what size tyres are on your wheels. There are a number of websites that will compare different wheel sizes and tell you what tyre you need to keep same overall circumference

First thing you should do is check that an 18 inch full size wheel will actually fit in the spare wheel space in the boot, then decide on either purchasing a full size wheel/tyre either getting a matching alloy (most expensive), steel wheel (probably best all round option) or a space saver.
