    Hi,
I have a Edision Underline 3in1. I'd like to edit the channels on a pc. To export the channels I select backup which results in a .abs file.

What is this .abs file? I'm guessing it's some type of archive containing the firmware and channels but doesn't appear to be a zip file.

Is there a way to export just the channels?

The ABS file is a firmware file which is compressed using LZMA and conains the the maincode, channel lists, user lists and other bits and bobs. It is made for the ALI chipset boxes, all of which have a different bootloader within the main ABS file depending on the box and manufacturer.

When you export an ABS file from your box to a USB key you can edit the channel list with a bit of software. In this case the bit of software is called "Channel Editor 1.0.02" which works for the Edision Ali M3606 and 3602 chipset boxes.

You can then export that back to the box by using the upgrade tool within the Edision software, choosing all code and bootloader.

Editing the firmware would require the ability to disassemble the ABS file and identifying the blocks that do X, Y and Z and then putting them back together within the expected file size. I am guessing you don't want to that. If you want to look at the firmware more closely you need to get yourself Ali Universal tools which is on the internet.
