Weekend only work?

Hey!

Would it be unethical and rude if you request only weekend work when interviewing or applying for a summer job?

I already have work during the weekdays but since the end is in sight for exams, I'd love to be working during weekends aswell! (for experience and money).

Any ideas what sort of places take in students during the summer? Maybe tourist shops since more tourists during the summer?

Not unethical or rude.

BUT you're unlikely to find many jobs only requiring a weekend-worker.

And there is a legal requirement that you are not allowed to work more than 48 hours in a week, for all your employers combined. Your current week-day employer should be keeping an eye on what secondary jobs you get, and not allowing you to break the overall maximum. (Should - but maybe isn't.)

Try Supermacs or any number of convenience stores like Centra. I'll be looking for weekend work soon too possibly and they will be my avenues of pursuit. Try them and let me know how you get on.
