Has anyone used this lens for portraits? As much as I love my Sigma 50mm, its tricky to focus at wide apertures. The 100mm with IS might be more reliable.

I've borrowed my friends one and used it for portraits in the past.

    It's brilliant.

I'm currently looking at the options for 100mm 2.8 macro lenses and I'm leaning towards the Tokina one as it's getting great reviews and is about half the price of the Canon L lens.

Have a look at this on the Ken Rockwell site .....
