I personally get rather BORED after one or two weeks, and I'll have to say I prefer winter holidays way more. What about you people?

p.s. any ideas on how to waste them effectively?

    Thank you in advance:D

What do you mean by summer holidays? Are you a student or something? I never take my holidays in the summer, cheaper to go away any other time!

Ah youth. It's wasted on the young. You probably won't realise how awesome having several months off is until you work full time.

There is a million thing you could do. Go for a long hike. Read a book by a lake. Watch the sunrise. Lovely.

Probably Lord of the rings. For nostalgic reasons. Or anything not by Dan brown. I can also recommend my favourite lake. Corrib. And my favourite hike. Ballyferriter to Dunquin on the dingle peninsula.

If you're bored you're doing it wrong.

Try volunteering with a charity. Most charity shops are always happy to take on responsible young people for a few hours a week and it won't do your CV any harm either. If you like animals you could volunteer with a shelter.

Student as well. Not going to enjoy too much but the time is valuable.

Going to try and get a shop job to save and volunteer at a printing company.

Then plan what work I can reseach and start in sketchbooks for this new academic year including a dissertation proposal.

Maybe some personal art work as well and a few days spent on Mournes and about Donegal.

I'm at the start of at least a month arsing about France. Seriously considering pushing the return date out, even at this early stage.

So yes, love them, this is how I make it through the horrendous bleakness of an Irish winter.
