How much did it cost to get your septic tank emptied and was it legit?

    We've just had our septic emptied by a registered contractor and got the receipt in the post this morning stating where the waste was officially discharged.

    The septic tank hadn't been emptied in living memory which means if it was ever emptied it was last done about 15-20 years ago. Condition was good with a thick skin of humous and a thick bottom layer but very little space left between the them for water so overdue an empty.

    Access to the tank wasn't that good as I wouldn't have a tanker in the yard, as it was the driver said his tractor was too big to come into our yard anyway and he just ran a 3 inch pipe the 25 m from the drive across the garden to the tank.

    All in all a well done clean tidy job was done for €230. Now I don't think that was a bad price but wondered what others think and how much they have paid, legit or otherwise?

    seems good to me - I have a small bio cycle septic and last time I got it emptied was €200
