I bought a logsplitter. The hydraulics to the splitter only works when the lift arms are in the up position....
Lucky enough the splitter can stand alone but I don't find this ideal as if you have to remove the splitter to operate & even if you had a transportbox on the tractor its up in the air..

The tractor has on out pipe and return to the hyd filler & has a small three way valve lever between your legs when seated.

I only ever used the tractor hydraulics for tipping before this and yes the lift arms had to rise before the trailer tipped...

Any one know if this can be fixed to operate the splitter attached with arms down?...Ive tried every combination of the valve & lift lever i think. I didn't forsee this issue.....

Could you operate the splitter off the tractor?

Have you a lot to split? I split all mine with a maul but it was ash and blackthorn. Couldn't see myself splitting it much quicker with a splitter. And l'll have enough for the year. Is there alot of knots in yours?

Yes it can be operated detached but i was hoping for a solution to the arms having to be up.....you wouldn't split this stuff with a maul its well seasoned large rings

there are a couple of different valves fitted in that position on a massey there will be one position for the valve where mooving the lift control will have no effect on tha arms of the tractor. In this position with the lift arms down the hydraulic flow should be to the tipping hose ( the hose coming from the valve on the top of lift cover). If the lift arms are fully up with the valve in any position there is no output from the tractor hydraulics unless you move the second lever in to the constant pumping position.

    I hope this helps

From memeriry there is a lever on the left hand side. Where you turn on the Pto. Once you put it in a Certain position it will stop the arms lifting

I don't think that lever is on mine.....I'll have another go tomorrow I'd like to get to the bottom of this..

You need an isolator valve, it bolts on instead of a blanking plate under your seat and has a connection for an out pipe.
Maybe your three way valve is an isolator valve in which case there should be an tipping pipe from it, they usually have a hole that a three eight connection screws into.

This is something like what you need, out pipes screw in where the red bungs are

i don't think you will have any choice if memory serves correct only to put in a spool valve if you want to work the lift as well as the spool.
