Howdy. Up until recently I was commuting over 100 miles a day for work but 2 weeks ago i got a new job which is only 5 miles from home so I have been thinking of changing my car. I have a '05 2.0 tdi a4 which suited perfect fr the big mileage but isn't really needed now. what I have been thinking of doing is selling the a4 and getting a nice luxobarge as a treat for myself. i am justifying the extra tax cost by offsetting it with the €50 or €60 a week i will be saving on fuel. Budget was going to be approx €5k and I was looking at a 525 (215 bhp) m-sport but then I kind of lost the run of myself and have now started looking at the lexus 450h as an option. my question is, with me only doing about 10 miles a day round trip and maybe 50 to 100 miles at the weekend, am I mad to be looking at something like the Lexus?

If you can live with the tax,do it,had a diesel mondeo before the 450h which I have for about a year and a half now, does about 550kms per tank around town €70 odd to fill,I've spent some money on mine as planning on keeping it with new wheels and also got it detailed but hasn't missed a beat so far over 13k since I got it,I also don't have to pay the €1809 tax,I knew the psv licence would come handy one day.

0-100 in less than 6 seconds - that's serious stuff.

If it wasn't for the abysmal boot, I'd have been driving one as well for a very long time.

Any of the 450h I have seen lately have big asking prices I'd be looking at the 300 as it's much cheaper brilliant car though I have one.
