Selling MacBook Pro, how much to expect for it?

Thinking of selling my late 13 13" MacBook Pro. 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Was looking at getting the new MacBook as a pro is completely wasted on me and I only ever got it for the retina screen. If I got a decent chunk taken out of the price I'd probably do it.

    Which processor?
    Is it SSD?
How many cycles on the battery? (Use coconut battery to check)

From experience of selling one in the past don't get your hopes up too high.

What did you pay for it and what do you expect to get now?

    It's 3 years old, in apple terms that's ancient (sorry :( ).

    2.4 Ghz i5
Its a retina pro, so SSD.

At the time it was 1550 euro.

No worries, just wondering out of curiosity because I'm not a power user so the MacBook would perfectly suit my needs. Saw a clearance deal to get the 1st ben MacBook for 1300, so if I could knock a chunk off that again I'd take it.

If 3 years old half what you bought it for.

You'll probably get around €700 for it if it's sub 500 battery cycles and no scratches etc.

    Good luck with the sale

Think that half/€700 might be optimistic but sure you might as well start there and see what you get.

You can get a new mac book air (I know there's a difference) for less than €900 when they're on offer (I think they're €929 this weekend in Hardly Normals for example) it'd be hard to get €700 for a 3 year old pro. But that's just my opinion.......

If you're going for a Macbook 12, spend the extra couple of hundred and get the 2016 model. I have the 2015 1.1Ghz with 8GB and 256GB and while it's great overall, I'd pick the newer model over it for the little bit extra it costs if I was going out spending on one today.

    Do you think?

It's valuing my 11D MBP at €100 less than I paid for it five years ago.
