    Looks like a card reader of some sort, too wide for SD card so maybe for SmartMedia cards.

    The audio and video cables come from a TV receiver in the Glove Box. However useless over here as it is for Japanese market.

    It is an ETC box (electronic toll collection). In Japan you can/could get a card that you can put credit on to pass through tolls. The card goes in the slot and every time they used the express lane the toll amount was deducted from the card. It is probably an outdated system over there now. It is of no use whatsoever over here so you might as well remove it.
