Hi I need urgent advice on whether it's realistic to catch a plane from the Stade de France in Paris to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) in under 1 hour ?

From actually leaving the stadium (10mins?) getting away from it & getting into a taxi (5 mins?)

From the getting into the taxi to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport (20 mins?) It goes from 17 to 23 mins on google maps probably depending on traffic

From getting out of the taxi to actually getting on the plane past metal detector etc (25 mins?)

Is this way too risky to miss the plane flight ??????????

    Please respond

Not a hope in hell. I know the stadium well, the surroundings as well as the airport and with the day that is it in a word... no. Even without a match on I'd say no and the associated traffic on the day.. throngs of people all that will cause delays as well as trying to get a taxi afterwards.... Not a hope.

If you arrive at the airport already checked in, have hand luggage only, and are willing and able to run, the absolute minimum you should get to the airport is 45 minutes before the flight, and that might not be enough. Boarding will probably close 20 minutes before the advertised departure time. If on Aer Lingus from T1, security can be very slow if a long haul flight is leaving from the same pier. If on Air France from T2, it's a long walk and probably a long bus journey too.

a few more things to think about... please bear in mind I've gone to a good few matches in that stadium including all the way back in World Cup 1998 and since and I think this based on my experience...

You will be exiting the stadium in an orderly controlled fashion with 80,000 others. You will be also competing with a percentage of those who will want a taxi also. Due to security etc, cars etc will be kept a good distance from the stadium. If from final whistle to sitting your arse into a taxi could be achieved in 30 minutes you would be doing well.

The journey to the airport with all this traffic in addition to the regular traffic will maybe double your journey to the airport.. and there is a lot of navigating the internal airport roads also so in fairness again if that journey took 45 minutes, you would be doing extremely well.

From the door of the airport to your gate and through security be it T1 or T2 even if running would average at 20 mins on a very good day with little Q for security screening...

I'd only chance it on the basis the inbound could be delayed and if I didnt make it could afford and didnt mind the idea of paying probably 300 euros plus for a one way flight the next day plus your overnight expenses such as a hotel room should you find a free one and your food etc.... Otherwise make other arrangements... The timelines above btw I think are best case scenario btw... you'd be mad.

You don't have a prayer of making it in under an hour. Make alternative arrangements, or leave at half time. Even if you did that, I'd still have my doubts about your making it.

Security in CDG can easily take an hour or more and you also have to queue for border control. Not a hope I'm afraid.

With the heightened security situation, I wouldn't bank on getting out of the stadium in 10 minutes, even if you're seated towards the rear on the lowest level.

And just looking at your estimate - how many taxis do you think would need to be waiting outside in order for it to be realistic for you or anyone else to be able to get a taxi within 15 minutes of the end of the match? As poster Strumms has said above, it's likely that the cops will keep cars well away from the stadium - in case of you know what.

You'll be lucky to be in a taxi within an hour of the end of the match, let alone make it to the gate in CDG.

Not sure if you have hand luggage but I REALLY don't recommend rushing anywhere around the stadium with a bag on your back. Guaranteed Darwin award.

100% definitely not enough time. Been there many times.
