    So the Chariots of Fire or the Rocky theme tune may do the trick improving motivation, mood and provide distraction from the pain of a long or fast training session.

    Question is would either of these pieces of music have a motivating effect if you didn't have the visual memories from the movies associated with the music?

    I'll bet that there is not one single runner that has listened to the Rocky montage while training who has been able to resist throwing at least one shadow punch, even just a token one ;)
