Wooden shed/stables, best way to treat

    Hi all,

I recently bought second hand wooden stables (4 years old). I have them built and now am unsure as to how to treat them, a few people have mentioned to me that used diesel or engine oil is a less expensive way to treat them.

Has anyone used this method before, or have any other ideas as to how to treat them, apart from buying the really expensive treating oils.

    Thanks in advance

    B

Diesel would be a waste of money
Some used engine oil for fence posts in the past but it's not the kind of stuff you would want to be handling causes cancer and is hazardous to your health and the environment.
I bought 5 gallon drum of cretos and put it on with a bucket and soft yard brush .
If you want to do a one off job get cladding and screw it on with Tex screws and a cordless drill.

Some conveyer belting inside at floor level would be good for the crap.
Some standard wood ptesevative would be grand from da coop be grand for da rest.
