NOTE 5 Frozen on SAMSUNG logo after update.

Phone turns on, but stops on Samsung logo, LED stays lit up blue.

Have already tried the hard reset.

    As well as cache wipe.

    Doesn't fix the problem.

    Out of ideas, and distraught.

    Can anyone suggest anything?

Or if not, tell me where to ask?

    Thanks

Factory reset seems to be the only way out of it now. Hope you had everything backed up.

Hardly much of an issue to get distraught over, at worse it's probably just a corrupt update file.
Simply download a new update file from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N920G/
Download Odin from here http://odindownload.com/ so you can install the update file to your phone.
Finally, install the Samsung USB drivers to your Windows (I'm assuming) PC from here http://developer.samsung.com/technical-doc/view.do?v=T000000117 so it can recognise your phone.

Then follow instructions similar to this
Extract (unzip) the firmware update file
      Extract Odin ZIP file
      Open Odin v3.11.1
Reboot Phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware update file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes
I should add this will remove all your private data on the phone - after the update it will be like a new phone. But most people will have everything backed up to :

Who does OTA updates these days anyway?

    Tried it, was looking hopeful.

Still Freezes in exactly the same spot unfortunately.

Spoke too soon, did the reset, and now it appears okay.

    Thank you D'People's voice.
