    Hi aviophiles!

Just a (possibly stupid) question. I'm in south Dublin. Firhouse, just at the foot of the mountains. I'm taking advantage of a clear night and out with the telescopes. I'm well used to seeing aircraft heading north on a track to DAA, but tonight there are loads going over. Some banking west. Two looked to be in formation. I'm used to seeing the usual traffic. So much so that I don't really notice it much. Tonight's seems more like the airline version of the M50 at 8am. Also seem to be approaching noticibly lower than usual.

    What's going on? Just curious.

Thanks for that. Lovely views of planets, crescent moon and aircraft as the odd one slides across the field of view!

You lucky sod. The only place I have that I can use a telescope has a street light just above it:(
Great night for it too over this side of the city.

Reminds me of just before last Christmas I was home in Dublin, and one night there was a gorgeous full moon low on the horizon and was trying out a new pair of binocs , I was looking at the moon and a plane coming in to land just passed right in front of it.. great shot.

Is there still a problem with the fog today? My flight got cancelled by Aerlingus but the flight radar and airport arrivals showing that the planes are landing...

What flight was it ? There has been a lot of disruption today, with a number of diversions too, everything in and out of Dublin is late so knock on cancellations are to be expected

Ei209 got stuck in Manchester for 6 hours. I do understand that these thing happen. The bit that pissed me off was that the vouchers that they give for delayed flight can only be used on board. What's the point?
