Are Irish Rail student return tickets the same as adult open return tickets?

Hi, just a quick question. I don't take the train very often and just want to be sure - if I get a student return ticket, is it an open return? (As opposed to a day return ticket) I.e. can I use it to get home a few days later? I assume so?

    Thanks.

Yes valid for a return within one month.

Yeah, if you buy it at the station, the return leg can take place any day up to a month after the date of purchase.

If you buy it online, you're tied to the date you choose for the return leg.
