no they are honouring tickets purchased but you cant buy new ones, so when i go home in three weeks had to book a ticket with klm to amsterdam then another ticket with aerlingus to cork so cant bring checked in bags home or bag, was just wondering if it will last long or else will have to change airlines and lose all my miles

Just tried to book Cork to Tokyo with KLM for August and it offered the EI codeshare as expected online

Possibly a issue that the booking it too far in the future and EI haven't loaded a timetable or there is no valid connection due fight times

This is KLM's problem as they are the marketing carrier, EI just give KLM a block of seats on each AMS flight

just an update, it seems as i am flying from nigeria home and the company is booking the tickets in nigeria, klm are paid in nigeria and at the moment all the airlines are struggling to get the money out of nigeria they were slow paying aer lingus so aer lingus are not taking people from klm who are coming from nigeria till they are paid up, does this sound legit, have heard on the news hear alright that the airlines cant get there money out

    Sounds like rubbish really

KLM have bought a block of seats from EI at a fixed price, KLM pay up pretty much regardless of if they sell 1 or all

Question really is are you booking a KLM ticket i.e both flights under KLM codes or is it KLM + Aer Lingus on a single ticket (which is possible)

Appears airlines are having issues in Nigeria at the moment.

    May not be rubbish.

Something similar going on with Venezuela where majority of international airlines have pulled out of the country because they can't get their cash out of there, they are made sell tickets in Venezuelan peso and can't exchange it for their home / functional currency (currency controls) and due to huge inflation their cash is dwindling versus their home / functional currency

We don't know the ins and outs of the KLM / EI agreement

There are most definitely issues with booking airline tickets out of Nigeria - it was covered by BBC World News this morning.

Same problem as Venezuela - currency effectively devalued and airlines not getting paid in $.

did you try the Air France website?

i did but it is easrier for me to fly in to cork than dublin as live in kerry and am going back to work on the 31/07/2016 so if flew air france would have to stay in dublin on the saturday of the august bank holiday weekend and the hotels are very expensive for a few hours sleep, the company booked a ticket to amsterdam with klm in our nigerian office and had to book a ticket from amsterdam to cork with aer lingus from our irish base,
on the way back i get in to amsterdam at 8.40 and the next flight with klm is at 1.30 would that be enough time to leave security and collect a bag and drop it off at the klm desk and get back in to the departures or would it be too tight

no what I meant was since KLM and Air France are effectively the same company, I thought it might have been possible to book a through ticket on Air France if you couldn't on KLM.

I think just under 5 hours would work with separate tickets in Schipol.

    No, you don't understand.

Air France and KLM are the same company, so Air France may sell you a ticket to cork through Amsterdam.

    Fair enough.
