Netgear d6300 AC ADSL Router setup not working

Hi, im trying to get this router to work with my dsl connection but am having issues with it connecting to the internet. It just keeps saying on all devices connected: "No internet connection"

Im using it to replace my old eircom zyxgel router, and im still with eircom.

Im experienced enough with networking and routers, but have tried multiple things to get it to work, but it keeps displaying this error when I do a test: "No Ethernet Cable Is Plugged into the Router Internet Port "

So I'm trying to setup via DSL and not ethernet cable/fibre and the netgear genie (automatic setup) isn't detecting the dsl cable, so I tried the cable with my old modem with the same cord and it works fine, but not on the netgear. I've tried the manual setup but it doesn't end up connecting if I do all the correct options.

I even entered the old eircom login and password (eircom@eircom.net & broadband1) but still no joy.

Can anyone please help me, thanks

If your Zyxel is an F1000 and not a D1000/P660 then you can't do this.

That not being the problem you may need to use advanced setup to enter the correct details. Post screenshots of the menus if you want help with that.

No, the problem is not with the zyxel, but with the Netgear D6300, and I dont understand, I cant do what?

What model of Zyxel do you have? It indicates whether you're ADSL/VDSL.

    zyxel

so does this mean I should be able to use this netgear modem with my dsl line, and if so, any ideas what the issue is?

Just to be sure, you arent using "Internet" instead of DSL are you?

No the phone cable is in the DSL port, the other port only fits a lan cable anyway I think.

It should just Sync up then. No reason why not.

Oh and RJ11 fits inside RJ45 so it can be mixed up one way but not the other (Phone into ethernet but not ethernet into phone).

Screenshot the DSL configuration page(not wizard).

Everything is correct there, so I'd lean towards physical vs protocol issues.

    -Assuming DSL light doesnt blink-
    • Modem is a dud
    • Not all pins are active in your RJ11 patch cable and alternal pairs are used
