Chicken Tikka Masala too tangy

I made chicken tikka masala but it was a little too tangy for my liking, I would have preferred a smoother creamier taste. I've attached the ingredients list, could anyone identify what might've caused the tang? Or maybe it was too much tomato puree?

Also - the lime went into the marinade for the chicken so I doubt it's that!

The fromage frais in the sauce will probably have done it - cream will make it taste better, although it will be a heavier dish.

Adding a teaspoon of sugar also always helps along any tomato based sauce.

Five tablespoons of tikka curry powder seems an awful lot, should it maybe have been teaspoons?

Simple way to do it, add some/ some more* almond powder.

I didn't read the recipe, but that will adjust for the taste you describe.

Worth keeping in mind that its obviously a low-cal recipe so compromises will have been made.

When you get rid of the sweetness and creamyness you kind of have to replace it with something. Making things a little tangy can be a good way of doing this. If you reduce the acidity you might find it tastes a bit bland. Worth trying and finding out though.

Some tomato purees are more concentrated than others.

    this roma is double concentrate

this roma seems just says concentrated

this one seems stronger than both those
