Experience with craigslist or other hookup sites?

So I've been looking at the "casual encounters" section of craigslist mostly out of curiosity but wouldn't mind a bit of how's yer farther if I can get it. It seems that most of them are men seeking men or else scams to trick you out of your credit card details. What I'm really asking is, does anyone have any genuine experience with things like this and is there any truth to it or is the whole concept just a scam preying on horny lads?

Not Craiglist but have used other 'hook up' sites and apps in the past. Small percentage of strange people on them but most are just genuine folk looking for some hassle free sex.

pof.com is your only man when it comes to casual sex.
Forget everything else.
Its free, and is the best bang for buck as a result.
Craigslist is full of horny men, gay men pretending to be women to get dick pictures. And Skype webcam blackmailers etc.
Escorts Ireland is owned by an ex-RUC officer; enough said.
And the other paid sites are a con; but a fool and his money are easily parted.
Gumtree used to be OK when it had a personals section, but that is long gone.
