Tec7 sealant - how long will it last after opening?

I opened a tube of Trans7 Clear Sealant (http://tec7.ie/product/trans7-clear-sealant/) yesterday and used a small bit of it then put the cap back on.

I have a few other small jobs to do over the coming weekends when I get time, will the tube last that long since I've put the cap on it as soon as I finished?

It goes hard pretty quick compared to silicone. It depends on where it is stored, sunlight, heat, cold etc.

The whole tube won't go hard but by next weekend it won't come out of the nozzle without you having to trim it back.

Tiss great stuff but I hate using it. It's so messy

Get a screw that fits the hole you cut in the nozzle, screw it in, that will save it.

Use the screw cap supplied with it. I've seen it last several weeks

Grand thanks.. I'll be keeping it stored in a dark cupboard at room temperature.

A bottle of white spirits and a spray bottle containing soapy water comes in very usefull when using it.

Try emptying the nozzle and plug the hole,as described, then wrap whole thing tightly in cling film

So assuming I do everything listed here (and storing in dark cupboard @ room temp), are we looking at max 1 month I can get out of it? Not sure I'll have free time this weekend to use it, might have to be next.

When it goes hard you can replace the nozzle. It'll take a few months for the tube to go hard. Even then you can cut the tube open & scoop some out.
Personally I think they would make money selling a half size tube for around 10 euro.

Why would you pay €10 for half size tube when full tube is only €11?

You'll get well over a month if sealed. Worst thing you'll have to do is trim a few MM off the nozzle when you go to reuse it. I normally remove the nozzle & shove a small tip screwdriver through From the top. This will eject the hard bit that forms at the opening and it's good to go. A few spare nozzles are handy to have lying around too.

I used to have this problem with standard silicone but never with tech7 or CT1. Since the screw caps came in its helped an awful lot.

For DIY applications, I have had a lot of success using a double layer of self-adhesive aluminium tape, about two 3x4cm pieces, to seal such sealant tube nozzles. Usually I can use a silicone type sealant over 1 year later. I plan to try the screw on cap type nozzles.

I have not used Tec 7 products and do not know how quickly they will dry out.

I bet 10 months on and its still good and just needs the end trimmed off the nozzle. I have a tube in the shed since before Christmas and use it every now and again and no issues sometimes pierce a hole up the nozzle to make an opening with a long screw before use.
