Invalidity Pension

    Hi there. I have been receiving illness benefit for almost two years. I recently attended a medical assessment where the doctor who examined me agreed that I am unable to work because of my condition. This morning I received a letter saying that because of the assessment I may be entitled to invalidity pension because my illness benefit is coming to an end after two years . It enclosed a form in which I had to confirm that my personal and financial circumstances haven't changed in the time I have been getting illness benefit.
    Does anyone know how long it takes for this to be assessed and what my chances are of getting invalidity pension? Many thanks

    The waiting time varies,whether you will get it depends on how serious your medical conduction is,even with the full facts (dont post them)anything said in the forum would be pure speculation.

    Hi..iv been on invalidity pension for 2 years now..my query is that I got a questionair in the post from social department in Sligo wanting to know my medical details again..I.e specialist reports doctors reports etc..I gave them all these details before..Im wondering is this normal practice...thank you

    Yep it is,get your doc`s office to fill it in.There will be another letter along in a while for you to bring to your GP.
