Motor Accident - Personal Injury

I was involved in a motor accident at the weekend and since have been experiencing pain/stiffness in my neck and upper back.

I have spoken to both insurance companies and mentioned to them both that I am in some pain and having issues. Neither of them were particularly helpful...

I am unsure of what I should do going forward. Should I visit my GP and go through the details with them with regard to the discomfort I am experiencing? Should I call the insurers again?

The guy who crashed into me has returned to Poland for a week and I am due to go on holidays the middle of next week also. I don't have his personal contact info only his insurance details.

Any advice would be really appreciated

If you've been hurt you should go to a doctor. Where else would you go?

Unless you're more concerned with getting compensation than getting better of course.

Visit gp if pain is causing you discomfort . Solicitor next and explain your situation

Go to your GP straight away and keep any receipts for anything that you spend.
I was hit behind by an uninsured driver 2 years ago and am still suffering from back issues.
Went to my GP the day after who then referred me on to a consultant which I got an appt for 6 days after the accident. By the time the consultant appt came round I was doubled over in pain leaving work so don't assume that time is a healer. Back/neck issues can often take some time to manifest. The consultant them told me to start physio which I did and whilst the appointments are much less frequent, I'm still attending.
As mine was an uninsured driver I engaged with a solicitor early on and they have taken care of everything for me.
The insurance companies aren't there to give you medical advise. All they can do is arrange to have your car fixed and settle the subsequent claim if there is one.

    See a solicitor,

    Boards.ie cannot give legal advice

    Good luck.

    Quite a condescending post.

Go to a doctor. Maybe a physio too as they often know more about back and neck injuries than the average GP. Assess the damage and then move on to solicitors and insurance companies from there if necessary. Get well soon.

There is no point in trying to deal with the insurance companies directly. They have zero interest in your welfare and will take advantage of the fact if you do not have the benefit of legal advice and will pay you some derisory sum, which may leave you without further recourse.

Go to the professionals to get professional advice, starting with your doctor.
