    Hi,
Can anyone here tell me the average salary for the following trades in the field of facilities maintenance:
    Electrician
    Plumber
    General Op.

background info: there are three of us in the above fields working in a large scale industrial environment. our general op is a qualified Carpenter with 11 years post qualification experience our plumber and electrician have greater than 12 post qualification experience.

two of us earn approx €30k whereas our general op earns €23k
this puts us at best on third year apprentice rates.

we are looking for a bit of info as to national averages and travel allowances for people in similar fields so we can prepare for a meeting.

    any info greatly appreciated.

When there is an abundance of people willing to work for less, then the money offered by the company for new employees will drop. The national average will take a lot longer to drop due to people already employed.

National averages really mean nothing. Some people could be on €60k and others on minimum wage.
