Internet down..modem or cab issue?

    Hi all!

So on Friday my Internet went down around midday. The local cabinet is less than 100m from my front door and when the Internet shut off I looked out and there were eir workers at the cabinet. Naturally I assumed once they were finished it'd be back.

Alas no. 7pm Friday no sign of the Internet returning so I rang vodafone. The girl did some line tests and said the line is perfect so it has to be the modem (vodafone huawei hg658c).

They're sending out a new modem which will take 5 days apparently, but I really don't think it is the modem, it's just very suspicious that it suddenly broke when eir were working on the cabinet.

Is there any possible way to test if it is indeed the modem without actually having a spare one because I don't have a spare. I don't want to wait 5 days only for to be in the same boat.

There are only 2 lights lit on the modem..the power light and the WiFi light. I've reset it, checked all the connections, swapped out the grey dsl cable..restored factory defaults..and nada.

Any help would be greatly appreciated..I've only got 400my left on my mobile data as I type here :(

    Thanks!

High probability the field techs jumpered the wrong pair when installing a neighbour and sent you up sh1ts creek in the process. Try and get Vodafone to send it to technicians now as it will take up to 3 days.
