I'm looking for a vintage steel road bike with Columbus sl/slx or Reynolds 531 frame or something of equal quality with a decent group set.
This will be my main bike for training so it needs to be quality and in well kept condition.
I'm 5 foot 11 inches so I presume a 54cm is the way to go.
There's a couple of things on adverts but I thought I'd try here first.
My budget is €420. A tad optimistic but worth a go. Thanks for reading.
(Can collect in Waterford, Dublin or limerick junction)

The frame might still be available. You could pick up a groupset and build it up and you'd still probably come in on or around your budget.

Plus you get the satisfaction of building it up yourself.

Frame number indicates it is from 1986, not sure of the model. Price would 325

No problem at all. What is it you're after exactly? I prefer the steel frames to the modern ones and have a few. Maybe another one might suit your needs better.

It's hard to put my finger on it (probably because my budget isn't big enough)
I love the Columbus slx peugeots. The Italian bikes have a real feel of pizazz that a Raleigh doesnt

Hi, sorry for hijacking the thread but might be interested in the Mercian if Tombliboo83 isn't interested. Does it have rack/mudguard mounts? And can you give any more details on exactly what components/wheels are on it? Also, where in the country are you based? Thanks.
