I bought a 1950's Hungarian tube radio at the weekend. It works and looks perfect. Just wondering what sort of price these things are valued at.

It looks a bit like this, though not the exact same. https://nl.pinterest.com/pin/455708056019103941/

I was joking with my partner that when we turned it on we'd get the war. Their reaction was like :rolleyes:. Whatya know bbc had a war drama on hwen I switched it on :D:D

    It's brand name is ORION

I'm curious as to why you needed to buy a Hungarian model, there are thousands of those radios all over the place as 'bric a brac' and sitting on high shelves in olde worlde pubs, many of them manufactured by the Pye factory in Dundrum. I doubt if yours has any value, there's just too many of them about and there's very little apart from BBC 5Live on Medium Wave (AM) these days so in most cases they're a non-functioning ornament, falling into the same category as old sewing machines and manual typewriters.

I didn't need a hungarian model... i just liked the look of it! I was just trying to be as descriptive as possible in my OP. thanks for the info on the pye factory in dundrum, i never heard of it before and will read more about it. I doubt it has any value either, but i am interested in finding out more.

Do you mind me asking what you paid for it,
I have 2 of these sitting in my garage and I was thinking of selling them.
I got them from my granny's house when we were doing a clear out.
