Zanussi washing machine - trouble!

Hi, I have a Zanussi ZWF1221 washing machine which has been acting up. Not draining or spinning up for us! I've cleaned the filter before the pump and I've tried running a cleaner through the machine. No joy - at the moment it seems to get stuck early during a cycle, fills with water, loads from detergent drawer but unable to start turning. (Earlier it did turn over for me)

I've tried the error code finding mechanism (holding start/option and using the clockwise turns) and I get 2 flashes "start" + "end" as well as 3 subsequent flashes with "end" only. This seems to be a 23 error in the pump?

Anyone here have any experience with this sort of machine?

(Edit: Seems to be able to fill and empty. I've had a look a tthe sump drain which had some stuff in it, but clear now. Still won't spin. Brushes? Motor?)

if it has no motor action the brushes in the motor probably need replacing

I was coming to the same conclusion! I think I mixed up the code - End might be the first digit, start the second, and E52 points towards the motor/brushes.

Cheers. Gotta go find em now (replacements that is) - the brushes I took out look quite worn.

    Call QUINNSPARES on 057 9351729
Have the make and full model number ready (printed inside the door or door surround) along with your visa/debit number. Your brushes will arrive the next day.

Helpful advice, thanks a million! Finding suppliers is half the trouble ;)
PS anyone else who sees this, they're not in Tullamore as they used to be, they operate from Derry now.
