Vw golf highline mk7 162

New golf ordered beginning of May for "sometime towards the end of July" delivery. Picked limestone grey color, but I've since seen a tungsten silver parked beside a limestone grey and would much prefer it! Can I change my order, or be as well to leave it be as would it slow the whole process down?! Vw are spec'ing these cars very highly for the price, plus leather, led rear lights and 18' alloys for an additional €500.

You need to get onto the dealer ASAP and find out if the order can be changed. If there aren't any other extras on the car it might be possible to get one in the colour you want from stock.

Then you would miss out on all the extras vw are giving for 162 model .. I have the tungsten silver golf myself and I still like it but perhaps it's getting too popular now !! Are you aware op facelifted or mark 8 ? Is due in October ? But I still think your getting a good deal on the 162 golf ..

Bought the car in a fairly large vw main dealer so might pop in tomorrow, no point ringing or emailing! Ya I wouldn't be taking a stock car as you've said I'd miss out on 162 pack plus I've added a few extras and it's nice to fully personalise when buying new. Aware of facelift possible later this year though dealer said it won't happen as their just gonna bump this one up with extras or maybe very minor changes. Mark 8 end of next year I think? I need the car this yr so couldn't wait anyway. Never owned a golf, always s40's nice cars but not keen on the v40 plus dated interior compared to the golf and would be 4-5grand dearer for the same spec. Thanks for the posts.

I reckon most of the stock cars will have that leather pack - if it's just a color swap there's bound to be a tungsten silver car in the country somewhere with it.

Unless you're ordering some other bits you should be alright.

Not the case at the dealer I bought it from, sadly. One highline, old 161 pack. Mostly tread line and a few comfort lines. I've winter pack added and park assist. The new 162 pack was only added since I ordered, they rang and asked if I wanted the upgraded pack on my order, which I did. So wouldn't think there's any with the new offer in showrooms yet.

Did you trade in when buying? What kind of discount did you get on this? Please PM if you don't want to say in public.

Ya I traded an '11 s40 diesel. With all the negotiations I got them up to €11500(all dealers gave less, or never got back with an offer!!) for my trade from €10k so nothing really off the list price of the new car. I think vw are throwing in a pretty good pack for very little extra money. I've not added it up but they must be worth 4 or 5 grand. Was interested in the Honda hrv but spec was way lower and they don't let you add in extras, and there were only 3 of them coming into the dealer for July so couldn't even pick the color!

I meant the new stock coming in. If you can't amend your original order there will most likely be a tungsten silver one somewhere the same as it in July if you haven't ordered anything else extra.

Went in today, it's now build wk 25 which is quicker than I was first told. He said he'd ring about it in the morning and request a change if possible at this stage. Either way I don't really mind but at least I know I tried.

Another new offer on the Golf I seen today that has the half price R line, this is across a number of other models also. VW are really pushing aggressively, their sales must be down a lot or targets are very high!!

Where's that info? Dealer knew very little yesterday! Not even fully sure the extent of the deal of extras I'm getting even though it's due to be built in a few wks! Reckons its to late to change color though.

Sounds too close to production to be able to change the colour. Week 22 at the moment and they are usually locked in to production 4-6 weeks beforehand.

Personally, I much prefer Limestone to Tungsten. There's a definite bang of beige off Tungsten Silver, and beige is for old man slacks or hearing aids, not cars.

Ya it seems like it's to late now, I don't mind that much really, both colors are okay. I would have thought limestone grey was more beige tbh, hopeing your right thought.

I would have said its limestone that has a strong hint of beige tbh.

Hmmm - it's been a while since we've had a Limestone Grey in as it's a Golf only colour and we wouldn't do too many of them. In my mind it was more of a Gunmetal grey, but perhaps my memory isn't what it used to be as it does seem a bit beige in the pictures.

Had a few Tungsten Silver's in recently (1 Golf Lounge and a few Passat's) and it's not a bad colour, but wouldn't be my first choice. Indium Grey is the Grey to go for in a Passat and I was thinking that Limestone was more or less the same as that in the Golf.

ya the one between the light silver and the grey is the one to go for imo. Cant remember the name but my wife almost bought a golf 18months ago and this was the best of the 3

Cool thanks for that, ya the tungsten silver is popular alright. I think the limestone grey looks pretty neat in that picture, so happy enough with my first choice.

You might be thinking of united grey which was in the Mk5 and Mk6... it was a nicer shade than Limestone imo, more "gunmetal" like.

I've just ordered a Golf Van in Urano Grey. Had our first Urano Grey car up here a few weeks ago - had managed to put people off it for ages, but a colleague ordered that one....

Looks quite nice from a distance, but when you are up close to it, it really does look like they didn't quite get around to putting the top coat on. Be grand on a 90ps Trendline van though.

Urano grey is non metallic though?

Yeah I think it's non metallic... it does look very flat!

cheers, ya nice offer for that kit. No mention of the offer I got of leather, led rear lights n 18" alloys for €500 though! Think vw would have their website updated by now?!

Yeah, pretty annoying its not updated yet to be honest. I always like playing with the configurator before I buy a car.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,470 ✭✭✭JoeA3

The VW configurator hasn't been properly up to date for years. Don't hold your breath...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 173 ✭✭Jack lemmon

VW website is updated with the new price list and specs looks like there's a lot of changes and less models on offer......
