Can't stop crying

Hey, not sure why I'm posting this here, just need to vent I suppose, also wondering if anyone has any tips or ideas. I'm currently unemployed, left work a few months ago due to emotional instability, best way I can put it, and now I'm not feeling like I'm getting any better. I'm currently sitting on my bed trying to get dressed but can't stop crying, for no reason. Just woke up like this, it happens quite a lot. I've been to my GP and seen a therapist, who although wasn't great, has helped me realise that I have social anxiety and depression. I'm currently on a waiting list for a therapist too. I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to how to deal or cope with these feelings in the meantime, not looking for diagnosis or anything, just if something works for you that I haven't thought of, I'm feeling a bit stuck.
Hope the mods ok this post, if it breaks any rules, I apologise. Thanks in advance

You poor thing, this sounds like a very difficult time for you.

Did your GP prescribe anything? If not, I'd revisit them. I'm a bigger fan of therapy than medication, but if you're on a waiting list for therapy, it might be a while before you get seen, and medication could help get your through this difficult period. Speak to your GP about options.

Another thing you could try is Mindfulness. You can get apps for it on your phone and do guided meditations. You can google it to find out more about it, but it basically helps you focus on fully experiencing the present moment, and not getting hung up on the past or future.

Thank you for the response, I was actually thinking about medications might help stabilise my moods, definitely one to discuss carefully with the gp. I hadn't heard of that app sounds interesting, thank you for the suggestion
