Apologies if this is supposed to go somewhere else. My friend is living in Canada at the moment (she's Irish) and has booked a trip back home in August. Only problem is her passport has expired. She has already applied for a new one but has just found out that her application has been declined because she was wearing a hairband in the photo.

With her trip just a little over two months away is there any hope of her getting a passport in time if she starts another application now? Any fast-track or emergency procedures that can be followed? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
