Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All,

I made a site last year for a college assignment. I'm back working on it now and I'd like to get it to a stage where it would be good enough to publish.

After looking at other similar threads here, I think my site also suffers from a poor logo design and web copy. Also, gathering quality photos has been an issue.

Any feedback would be be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Brian

Layout looks broken. As ever it's hard to build a good looking site with a very bad logo.
Suggest getting a decent logo/brand established before anything else.

I tried to copy the company logo from a letter head, by drawing it up with Inkscape as an svg. I do realise it's not good.

Any recommendations for logo designers? It'd need to be pretty cheap. The clients (my family) are getting the site for free and aren't too pushed if the site goes live, or not.

    Hey there,

You could search up on Fiverr.com, you could look through peoples designs and get one for only 5 euros.

Alternatively, a simple text writing of the company's name will probably work too.
    Less is more ;-)

Fiverr.com for 5 euro is small money, defiantly worth a punt.

This looks like an interesting version of simple text writing of a company logo:

I'll have a look into both your suggestions. Cheers

Had a bash at a logo re-design, using simple text writing of the company's name.

Just casually browsing and am no designer but that logo font doesn't suit for me. That curly tailed 'y' is not an architect's 'y'. IMO
