    I currently have a toyota corolla 2002.
I'm Looking for a bigger car with more storage capacity and spacious seating with two to three small children and boot big enough to carry three to four suit cases ?
Please advise which car would be good for that purpose and would also have good resale value.
    thanks

I recently got a 2011 ford mondeo. Apparently it's a hatchback. Bootis massive you'd easily fit a 4 suitcases. I have 2 7 year olds and I know I'd easily fit another car seat in there with them.

Any pros and cons of Nissan Qashqai?
Is insurance cheaper or expensive in newer models?
If it is a good car any recommendations on done deal for Dublin area?
    Thanks

A Nissan Qashqai is not much bigger than your Corolla in the inside. It's still based on the Corolla class segment, they put big chunky bumpers on them and raised the height to make them a bit rugged looking. Inside they have average space and boot size.

Regarding insurance, nobody here can tell you what insurance will cost you as it's not bought off a fixed price menu and is heavily dependant on who is insuring it also. That is something you will have to do yourself. As for donedeal recommendations in Dublin, I suggest you start calling private sellers or if you prefer buying from a garage then start shopping around the various dealers as there are no shortage of second Qashqais for sale, just be aware that cheap ones are usually cheap for a reason.

    Thanks Bazz!
Which car do you recommend then?

If you need individual rear seats for 3 young children and some storage space in the boot then you are really looking at a midsize MPV type car.

What sort of budget do you have?

Toyota Corolla Verso is worth a look at too, they are a 7 seater but the second row has 3 individual seats and the third row can be folded down to allow extra boot space for luggage.

I've always driven Toyota! Drove Corolla 81 model for 9 years-/ then tersel 99 for 2 years. Then Yaris for 3 years then back to Corolla 3 years. Have a bit of faith on Toyota!

    What about Toyota rav ?
    Or Hyundai Santa?
    Or Mercedes M class?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,482 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

The Rav4 is not going to offer you the space and seating you say you need.

The Santa Fe only comes with a 2.2 litre engine. They are also not the most reliable. Are you happy paying around 1k in motor tax per year?

The M Class again comes with a large engine, they are thirsty and running costs will be a lot higher than what you are used to with the Corolla.

    I stand convinced!
What are your views on bmw?
More color options in Corolla and Ford?
Which one will you prefer Corolla or ford? I

BMW don't offer anything in that type of car back then. Anything they have will be similar to the Merc M Class.

    I'd have a Corolla Verso over a C Max.

Well you should know more than me if your driving style and mileage is enough to warrant a diesel or a petrol. Also your budget is likely to get you a cleaner petrol than diesel.
