After looking up the past two nights, i though this might be interesting idea for a thread.

Right now I can see something in the south west or SSW on it's own and very bright.
    Is that Jupiter?

Only other thing I can really see is in the south, is it arcturus?

That's what I'm guessing from looking on the sky map app

I think the brightest thing in the south these nights is Mars isnt it?Arcturus is lower on the horizon.Saturn is thereabouts too.

I think Arcturus is a lot higher in the sky than Mars and Saturn. Antares is low to the horizon and between Mars and Saturn.

Mars and Saturn really come into view in the South around midnight. Also in the direction at that time is the center of the Milky Way. Can't see much in the city/suburbs unless you at least have binoculars, but still it's nice to know where you stand in the galaxy anyway.

Jupiter is in the south west alright and should be visible for most of the night. Other than the ISS, there is not much else that I can think of that stands out to the naked eye during the summer.

Yeah what I was looking at was high enough in the sky, so I think it was arcturus.

Caught the ISS there too, a quick bugger :pac:
