I find myself coming off worse nine out of ten times with this rounding malarky.Reackon I'm down nearly fifty cents at this stage.
What's the general consensus,am I just unlucky and due a lucky streak or are we all being fleeced?

I usually gave coppers into any cancer box by the till.
So the cancer charities are the ones losing out.

Just do away with the 1.29. 99c etc I'd sooner know i'm paying an extra cent than your tills being up.

May not be much individually, but 10 people per day over the course of the week €250 over the year. Couldnt see the shopkeeper giving that to charity.

You can insist on correct change if you want to. My mam works on checkouts and says that quite a few do insist on it.

Have a freddo bar in hand ready to apply to your shop if you're in trouble OP. Fingers crossed you'll be back in notional profit again in no time, with delicious chocolate as a bonus.

Vote with your feet and don't use them, you might even save a job or two while you're at it.

It's not even a consistent practice. Some places give the 1 cent change and some don't, which makes no sense at all.
