Possible Channel 4 Changes

A new SD test has stared on one of C4's transponders, and it might possibly be for 4Seven to move over from its current home. If this is the case, this will leave Channel 4 HD all on its own on a DVB-S transponder. It might then be able to change to DVB-S2 and house some more HD channels.

There are two likely outcomes - The 5 regions of Channel 4 not in HD being launched, allowing Channel 4 HD to be on 104 on Sky and Freesat's EPG's or, and this is a stretch, it could possibly be for E4 HD, More 4 HD and Film 4 HD to move on to C4's own satellite space. This doesn't mean they would be going FTA but is something to note. They could also just tease us and then just launch Channel 4+1 HD and 4Seven HD on satellite!

We will know more in the coming weeks I'm sure.

Yes, Film 4 may be the first channel moving to make space for 4 Seven to then take its place. Then the HD transponder can switch to DVB-S2 and more HD channels can launch.
