Hill start question

Hi folks, just a question I'm curious on.

I did my driving test this morning and thankfully passed.

I thought however I had 100% failed it.

Reason is because I cocked up my hill start, twice.

As in before taking off the car cut out.

I would have thought that if you messed up one of the main 3 things ie that, turnabout and reversing around the corner it was an auto fail.

    Anyone know?

I guess you did not let the car roll backwards. That would be much worse than letting it cut out. Rolling backwards, is out of control. Cutting out but keeping full control is much better.

Nope, it definitely didn't roll back.

Never thought of that aspect of it tbh.

I was just stunned when he told me I'd passed.
