Connecting in Manchester

So I'm heading to Malta in August and the cheapest flights would be with Ryanair/EasyJet via Manchester. I'm just wondering, how much time should I give between arriving and departing. Flights to Malta is at 19:25 and I have the option of arriving in at 17:45 or 14:50.

I'm aware that I'll have to recheck in Manchester but just curious, which suits better time-wise?

Are both flights from same terminal? I fly into Manchester a few times a year and always find security takes longer there than in many other airports. I'd rather get in at 1450 and just be relaxed than worrying.
Also 17:45 is very tight as that's when plane lands, you usually have to wait on the bus to bring you in, too many variables, just get the earlier flight.

Ryanair operates from T3 and EasyJet is in T1 in Manchester. Are they far away from each other?

I too was thinking of getting the 14:50 flight. Hadn't realised that was landing time rather than deboarding time.

They're not miles from each other but it still adds time that you can't really afford with the later flight. Yeah 1450 flight is the only one that makes sense to me.
