    How's things?

    Does anyone know where I can order a rubber duck online? I'm abroad and want to get one for someone as a gift for their help in a software project

    Cheers

    I should've made myself clearer. I want to order one from an Irish shop but I'm living abroad so was wondering if anyone here knew of where I could get one.

    Did 'rubber duck' acquire a new meaning in a software development context or are you referring to a small, typically yellow plastic replica member of the Anatidae family?

    System.out.println("http://www.carrollsirishgifts.com");

    I'm assuming the OP wants to buy someone a rubber duck because of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubber_duck_debugging

    I'm going to hazard a guess and says not very many devs have bought a rubber duck for this purpose, as such our knowledge of duck retailers will be limited.

    Nice gift idea though!

    [c o d e]System.out.println("http://www.carrollsirishgifts.com");[/c o d e]

    If you use the quote button you'll see it's there. It just doesn't display correctly.

    Might want to reconsider your gift idea, as one of these can be quite expensive. And yes, this is also known as a Rubber Duck.

    "If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck".

    That's duck-typing. That's different to what the OP is looking for.

    I know. It was my attempt at a joke.

    Whoops, completely forgot about this! Yes, you are on the ball. I should've been clearer in my op.
