Can anyone recommend a dentist that would supply and fit partial chrome denture in Cork City or County. Time to replace the one I have, cost a good few bob at the time but have to admit it was worth every penny.
The teeth look very real and I get lots of compliments about my teeth! dentists I attended commented that it was class work. Unfortunately the dentist who fitted them has since retired and the dental technician involved is now rip.
I was more than pleased with the chrome as it lightweight and unlike the plastic denture it doesn’t cover a lot of the palate which enhances taste and easy to judge temp of the food.
They are easy to clean because of the smooth surface of the metal. I would greatly appreciate a referral as I have seen so much shoddy work, thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Hi OP here again. I have gone to a specialist dentist who was recommended on boards. The I rang them early in the week and the earliest available appointment I could get was mid October, was told I could get cancellation and would be put on priority list, believe it or not I was there 2 days later due to cancellation this really took me by surprise.!!
I was very impressed by the specialist dentist got a thorough check up and options for various solutions / treatment plans, Check up cost €150 there were 2 x rays taken during the consultation at no extra cost, photos were also taken which I imagine would greatly assist in the treatment process for both consultant and client in achieving the end goal. I was very impressed with the consultation

I had a ball park budget maximum €2,000 in my head, which I could just about manage with some sacrifices! I was given different options including crowns which was out of the question due to the cost and I have no problem wearing the partial denture and used to get compliments on how lucky I am to have a good set of teeth! Bear in mind I have them over 10 years now and they are discoloured and no longer aligned with the existing canine on each side of the denture due the passing of time and also very discoloured, they are heavily filled but an ideal scaffolding for the denture, I am a non smoker. I am getting this work purely for cosmetic purposes, I really want to get this done.

€3,500 cost for a basic treatment plan includes:
    Replacement chrome partial denture
Re filling of canine on either side of denture they are heavily filled
Root canal treatment of 2 molars beside each other ( x rays taken) and re filling of same
    Whitening of existing teeth
A total of approximately 7 to 8 consultations and possibly have it for Xmas the journey is almost an hour each way door to door

My original dentist is retired and I was more than pleased with the service and the current denture, in fact I got lots of compliments on how lucky I was to have such good teeth!! This consultant dentist was held in high regard and people travelled from all over for the wide range of professional services he provided at affordable costs, the technician who made the dentures is now rip. I moved from that surgery for a few years and went to a lady dentist for a change, each time I go in I meet a different lady as the other is on Mat leave! Had a check up there recently and was surprised to learn the difference in opinions example the new consultant dentist I was recommended on boards had a more detailed plan for work and a kind of snag list, looking towards long term plans for retaining and protecting existing teeth that are heavily filled, he also recommended fillings for the lower teeth which I hadn't heard a word about from my own lady dentist.

I have since gone back to the original dental surgery where I got my dentures, this surgery has been taken over by 2 highly qualified and capable dentists, I got a quote of €1,250 for replacement cobalt chrome denture and €250 for teeth whitening, this doesn't include the re filling of the two canines nor does it include the 2 root canal treatment and filling of both molars.
I am booked in for a check up next week at a cost of €35( cost to be covered by PRSI, I will then know what the total cost of the 2 front fillings will be,

I am strongly considering going to CUH for the root canal treatment and filling of both molars, ( PLEASE EXCUSE MY DENTAL LANGUAGE!) as it would greatly reduce costs , also this surgery is only 15 minutes away from me, I also have the choice of taking the risk of not getting the root canal and see what happens down the road, I could possibly get teeth added to the new denture if worse possible scenario happens and I need extractions.

I would go with the original plan of €3,500 in a heart beat but the cost is serious when you are not financially well off and honestly I could easily see it going towards 4 grand as there are hidden costs that can arise during treatment plans.

I was surprised with the different opinions of both dentists it was an eye opener, meaning the specialist found areas for work including fillings in the lower teeth that my regular lady dentist hadn't mentioned, he made it clear that this was not urgent nor had she mentioned about the root canal treatment.

Any suggestions or feedback would be most welcome, thanks in advance for your time.
