Bad picture due to reflection but it's definitely a sim although it looks to be fixed

Delivered last Friday, and that's about all I know.
Was wondering what it was when I seen the pics of fb.

I hope the pilots have lots of coins for the slot.

Airside Business Park Swords. They built a special housing for it next to the head office.

Are the pilots charged to use it?

They previously announced plans to deploy a fixed simulator in Dublin - I suppose that's as good a place as any :)

They are required to self-fund their type rating and keep current but Ryanair provide a loan scheme, deductible from salary.

Ryanair loan scheme? Never heard of that. I just turned down their job offer as I couldn't fund the type.

The new sim comes from MPS in Netherlands. I believe RYR bought good few of them and this is number two. Fixed base, FNPT2+MCC level.

I'm head9mg ATPL at the minute. Do they really supply a loan for type rating?

I know a captain there, must ask him also

Firstly, yes pilots fund the TR.
    Secondly no they don't.

Oops, sorry chaps; it's the other one ( orange tails ) that underwrite the loans:
During this period, they are bonded to CTC McAlpine but a low cost unsecured loan facility is available to finance this bond. During advanced training, cadets will be sponsored directly by an airline and the training costs and bond will then be transferred to the airline on employment.

Silly me and sorry for getting your hopes up.

    Keep saving the pennies :(

The Fixed base sim was delivered to the Ryanair head office last week (Wednesday I think). They had previously been keeping it in another location in Dublin for the last few months while there were waiting on construction of the new building to be completed. Its the only one they are planning for Dublin at present but I do believe there are more planned for locations in the UK and Italy.

It was installed in Hangar 2 (Ryanair Hangar) at Dublin Airport the last while. Great little toy

Will or can this be used for new pilots or is this only for current pilots?

Is there a difference in training terms in regards to a fixed sim or hydraulic sim? Obviously one feels more real due to the movement

The name gives it away, Flight Navigation Procedure Trainer, and Multi Crew Cooperation training, both of these are areas that do not need a movement simulator, as they are procedural rather than operational trainers, they are dealing with how you operate the systems, and work with your colleague, rather than how the aircraft responds to what you are doing to or with it.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁
