No heat whatsoever. Can it be repaired?

I was told the heating element can get covered in limescale buildup and this part is now a sealed unit so it cannot be replaced or cleaned out as before. New one I'm afraid, if it is dew to limescale.

Tks. Come from a hard water area where constantly have to descale the hose and head.
