Just wondering if anyone knows of a decent barber who has later opening hours on certain weekdays ? Obviously Saturdays can be a bit of a scrum for long waits, etc.
The part of Mayo that I might travel to get a trim would be Claremorris, Castlebar, Ballina, Foxford, Swinford and Ballina at absolute stretch.

Stauntons near Dunnes Stores seem to open late during the week or least Thurs and Friday. Used them for over 20 years now.

Thanks Yop. I managed to get there on time and yes they are a solid barber shop and I was happy with cut & service.

Unfortunately though, it seems that they don't do any late evenings, standard closing time of approx 5.45pm each day it seems.

    No problem at all Yop.

    Thanks for the recommendation.

It was good to try out a different barber in any case. Mission achieved this evening but I am still on the hunt for a barber that might be open until 7pm if such a thing exists in this part of the country.

They have a 2nd place across the road which do appointments, that is the one I go to, I bring my young lad there for 5.30 on a Friday so maybe u were at the one across the road?

The one I was at was on the opposite side to the street entrance to Dunnes Stores. Just up a bit past the newsagents (same side of road) and possibly near to that "record shop" (McGlades?). There was a womens (or unisex) hairdresser upstairs but this place had 3 barbers chairs backing on to the street.

They have another one almost directly opposite that. It'spretty much appointment only from what I gather.
