Disconnected services on a 'NAMA'd house

ESB and GAS disconnected over 2 years.

I know I'll need a cert for the electrical installation and a completed ESB networks form - looks quite onerous. Any ideas on typical RECI / ECCSA costs for a recert, and time scales involved by ESB networks. Application form really off putting, looking for folio maps etc, doubt really needed for a house in a housing estate, but getting the feeling it might not be a quick process!

On the GAS, very little information apart from brand new installs on the GAS network's site. Again, anyone have any experience with costs / time frames.

On the water: Don't think I need to worry. New meter fitted, simply a matter of turning on the water, or am I being complacent?!

Is the property in a housing estate or a one off house? (makes a big difference).

You can't really get a quote for re-connection from the ESB, you need to put in a formal application. If just he main fuse has been removed by ESBN your looking at 79 Euro for it to be put back in.

Once your sure you are purchasing the property:-
    1) Fill in the CN2 form online, don't bother with the paper copy. You can do this before you own the property.
    2) ESBN will do a site visit and see what needs to be done on their side.
    3) They will issue you with a quotation for re-connection and a service contract. Once the fee is paid, the form signed and submitted they will issue you with a new MPRN number. Can take up to 15 days.
    4) Your electrican tests the installation and submits a cert via RECI with the new MPRN, within a few days ESBN will put the main fuse back in and restore power.

The cost of the electrician to cert the installation varies, but usually about 200 Euro.

The whole process isn't too bad at all, just takes a bit of time and back and forth. So best kick it off before you close the deal and at least get the quote from ESBN.

RECI only. The other crowd lost their licence from the 1st January 2016.

Got the electricity reconnected. House in housing estate, so 79 euro ESB networks charge, and 300 for an electrician

Gas; RGII independent engineer, 70 for cert, 145 euro to gas networks to unlock meter. Not done yet though, I didn't bother trying to get those ducks in a row before getting the keys.

Sure am glad I started the process early with ESB networks though. Took 4 weeks vs the quoted 3 weeks for the 'quote'. Had to chase up on the phone. Things went quickly enough once it was passed to the local office.

So thanks for the ESB advice.
