What's the story with the JCSA in mixed-membership schools?

The TUI has accepted the new Junior Cycle assessment system; the ASTI doesn't.

Does this mean that, in schools that have mixed union membership - some in ASTI, some in TUI - i.e. community colleges, students whose teachers are TUI members undergo the new assessment, which is not counted as part of State exam results, while students whose teachers are ASTI members don't?

If the answer to that question is Yes, then it would be an absurd situation.

It certainly is that way at the moment. Not that it matters much but it's the JCPA not JCSA. The bigger issue is the Assessment Task which does count towards the State Cert.

Isn't the continuous assessment separate from the State Cert?

Continuous assessment has never been part of JC Reform but classroom-based assessments are such as an oral communication assessment. The Assessment Task takes place after the second CBA and will be marked by the SEC along with the final exam in June of 3rd year.
