I've just booked a weeks holiday in Milan for October and am hoping to do a spin maybe to the Madonna di Ghisallo and to visit the Colnago Museum if possible. Does anyone know if the museum is open to the general public or just the occasional journalist? Thanks.

A quick google search says that you need an appointment as it's not open to the general freds.

Ah what a pity. I heard a friend of a friend was there, must've been b.s.!

Pop into the tourists office or email them. I did the same in Bologna to visit the Ducati factory. The hotel rang and they said 14:00 would be fine, few other people appeared too.

Stayed in Como 2 years ago in October. Cycling was top class (despite getting arrested for cycling on a motorway, handiest €100 those cops ever made!).

At the top of the Madonna del Ghisallo there is the infamous church, which in itself is like a museum. Next door there is an actual museum. €10 odd to visit from memory

Visited both the church and the museum a couple of years ago; we didn't book either - both were really worthwhile though the church spooked me a bit - too many people killed off their bikes. Enjoy the spin back down the hill!
