Skype interview

Asked to come to London for an internship interview either tomorrow/Friday. I currently study in the UK so getting there isn't a hassle. In some ways.

I'm in the middle of exams at the moment so I'm not free to travel any of the days they've offered. It's a paid internship and would be great experience at something I've always wanted to do. They said URGENT (yes, capitalised) in the email subject bar.

Is it worth chancing my arm to ask for a Skype interview? I'd be fine to take out an hour of the day from studying to take the call, but I don't think I'd be able for a four hour round trip to London and miss out on a day of revision.

    Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Definitely worth putting that forward! I have been hiring for many years and have had that more than once as well. I would still want to meet the candidate before making an offer but to get your foot into the door for the position...sure! However, once I have also hired only basis a full Skype interview round as the candidate just couldn't make it and while that meant taking a risk, he was a great hire!

Yeah suggest it explain it like you did above that you are studying and will be available for face to face on whatever date...

i cant seen any problem with it unless they are super uptight.

make sure you wear pants for the skype interview...
