The connection here through eircom is dreadful an the " business package I was on was costing around € 160 per month for broadband + 2 lines.. so they moved me to a new business package costing approx € 75 for same deal. ( i dont really understand how or why they differentiate betwwen business and residential) They said there would be no physical change of equipment and I and they assumed I would have the same speed lower price.. not so .. and now speed is unworkable.

I have had technical look at it and I have even had a tech out to
check lines etc.. all clear on their end.BUT it is simply not good enough

basically before I moved I got consistant speeds from
    http://broadbandsupport.eir.ie/speedtest/ as follows,

    Down 13 Mb/s up 0.89 Mb/s and pings of 22-28 M/s

Now new system I am getting consistantly

    Down 8.9 Mb/s up 0.48 Mb/s and pings in excess of 0.30

my line and hardware and everything else is exactly the same..

This is simply unworkable... as bad as it was the old speed was like
    lightening compared to now..

maddenig thing is I am over the wall from the shopping center and know that older estates either side of mine are on higher speed... ,

Cannot find anyone in Eircom to "own " the problem and cannot find anyone that can advise if they are likely to upgrade in the next centuary..

Have satellite so dont need want TV services or mobile. Looks like only other options i Virgin media.. but not really keen on them do to location f connection and did not really want another bill...

    Any suggestions,.?

    Eddie

Depending on how high up the business ladder you were you've lost:
    Less brainded CSRs
    Faults SLA

Looks like you've just gone from a 14Mb ADSL2+ profile to a 9Mb one (the minimum). http://business.digiweb.ie/linechecker/ - Pop your phone number that the DSL runs on in there and paste the response back here.

Its running a lot better this evening..

Ping 24 Ms Download 10.75mbps and upload 0.51 Mbps but still feels like it struggeling more than it was when it was 0.89 upload which the Eir guys say is not possible.

If I was in the middle of the mountains I could maybe accept it but its really annoying its so slow.

    Multitasking is just not option.

I did a check on phones in the streets all around be and they are all on 80-100 fiber.? and mine is 7.!

I cannot get Eir to check it because they simply say, yours is 7 and it tests ok..

You're direct fed, its likely all you'll get until FTTH (circa 2020).

That prequal says 15_1 ADSL2+ so its simply a case of them changing your profile. If line quality is poor they should investigate as it was previously operating fine at 14Mb.
